dh's epilepsy has just returned - he fell to the floor while holding our dd1 - 14 months old. Luckily she was uninjured. Dh has not fitted since we were expecting dd1. We now have dd2 as well - 10 weeks old. Anyone out there coping with a partner who has epilepsy and any tips on how to keep the children safe, for me not to be so paranoid about them and for him to have maximum input in their care?

Oh gosh Dippy, how frightening that must have been for you all. I hope he is recovering ok from his fit. I'm afraid I have no advice but I just wanted to say that my best friend has epilepsy and I know how much of an obstacle it presents her with in daily life (she is single with no kids), so I can appreciate how doubly difficult it must be to be a parent with the condition. I hope someone comes up with some helpful advice soon.

Hugs

If you have no luck with anyone here then you could try here . It's the message board for the National Society for Epilepsy. There's bound to be someone there that can help.

Hi "Dippy". Can only sympathise with your situation and hope that things settle down soon. I am sure dh would really love to play an even role in your children's care. Perhaps you could spend time with friends as a family so that you are not alone in looking after the children whilst having a good time.
