Endometrial Ablation- anyone had this?

I had an appointment with the gynae today, and they have recommended this procedure.
I have very heavy and painful periods, with possible fibroids and adenomyosis.
I have been taking tranexamic acid and mefenamic (sp?) for six months, but it hasn't really helped.
I would be really grateful to hear from anyone who has had this procedure.
Thanks

My sister in law had it done - it worked a treat.

I had it done just over 2 years ago. It was called NovaSure. We had to pay private as the NHS didn't do it in our area, it was the best money we have ever spent. I now have my life back. I do get a bit of bleeding but no pain whatsoever and the bleed is nothing at all. My sister & sister-in-law have both had the operation as well and they have not had a period since. Again, they are over the moon with the results. I say go for it, I was on the same meds as you and now I don't even need to take a paracetamol. Good Luck xx

I'm marking my place on here as I'm interested in having it done now that we've decided not to have any more children and dh is having the snip.

Thanks, I've been give a load of leaflets to read through, although the complications section is worrying! I know they have to tell you of all possible outcomes, but I wish I hadn't read that bit.

I had it done in April this year as I was suffering from long really heavy periods and flooding.

I recommend it. I do still have periods but they are much shorter and lighter.

Go for it x
