TMI Alert - Sore vagina, pelvic floor problem?

I was going to name change as i'm a bit embarrassed but what the heck! Sorry if this is TMI but I'd really apprecciate any advice.

Have 2 DC, youngest is 10 months, both vaginal deliveries. I just got my period for the first time since having DD and used a tampon as I usually do, but had to remove it as it was so sore. It didn't hurt on insertion but as soon as I stood up and particularly when carrying DD around I felt a heavy, achey almost dragging sensation. Once tampon was removed it all felt OK again. I tried again in case I hadn't inserted it properly but had the same problem again.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Am I having some kind of prolapse?

I am going to contact my GP but wondered if anyone had any wisdom to share in the meantime?

I have no experience but didn't want to leave you unanswered.

Is it feeling like that because it's slipping down inside you? My youngest is also 10 months and I'm having trouble keeping tampons up where they should be . Mine tend to work their way down until they're almost poking out......v uncomfortable.

Have you tried sticking a finger or 2 up there to see if you can feel anything out of the ordinary?

deffo go to your gp and get them to have examine you.

did you have any internal stitches or tears?

You may well have a small prolapse of the bladder/uterus or rectum. The draggy feeling is prob because the tampon has irratated some part of the vaginal wall.

Thank you both so much for answering...I was starting to feel like a bit of a pariah and wondering if I really had crossed the TMI boundary Grin

santas it's funny you should say that because I have since tried using a bigger size tampon and it has been much more comfortable I am now really going to have to make an effort with the pelvic floor exercises!

I've tried having a feel around and I can't feel anything obvious. pirate I didn't have any stitches this time but had an episiotomy and a subsequent repair after DS's birth 5 years ago.

I've made a GP's appointment and will get properly checked out.

Thanks so much again for your advice, it is much appreciated.
