DS is 4mo. I had really really bad SPD, pretty much went after the birth but now I have started exercising I can feel my pelvis clicking and sort of jolting around. Does it go? Do I work through it? DO I have to wait before exercising? I didn't get physio during pregnancy because they lost my form and I left it too late then (thought there was just a long wait).I have just been doing sit ups but stopped because I got scared of the clicking and pain Confused Anyone else had this?

Me :( I feel your pain. I am 9 months after first child and I am only just beginning to be without constant pain. I have been seeing a physio sonce the birth - I was severe during my pregnancy, crutches were of little use to me, I was housebound etc etc.
I have been taking it very easy (well as much as I can). I have been obeying the rules of - 1 stair at a time, sitting down to put on pants/trousers etc, never ever stand on one leg, no sit-ups, walking slowly and not doing too much, Entering the car bum first and then swinging legs together in. My Pubic sympyshis joint is still swollen, but I am in so much less pain that I once was. Resting is really the only way I can function, but with a child, I have had to limit myself and be careful.
I would say get yourself to the GP/physio to be seen. The more I do, the worse I feel. I try not to go upstairs more than I absolutely have to in a day. My activities have been very limited - my physio told me it would at least take this long for me to 'settle' down, and it has, But thank god, I was going off my head. Please try to see someone x

Sorry for my typos! I meant to also say it is only within the last few weeks that I have been able to sleep on my side even with pillows without a lot of pain, so at least I can see a change. I've been told it's all to do with hormones and that it can take this long for them to settle. I think we have been unlucky, it's such a pain to have this condition, but hopefully you can be referred (quickly) and in the meantime try not to do too much. I joined the Pelvic Instability Network - they are good, all free and good info on how to look after yourself. DOn't do anything that hurts, and never ever work through the pain - that does not help. HTH :)
