Horrible side effects from the pill. Give up or persevere?

I started taking Yasmin 3 days ago and for the first day was fine. The last 2 days, I can honestly say that I feel pregnant! I am definately not as there has been no action Wink but I have a horrid heavy feeling in my uterus and what I can only describe as a feeling of morning sickness- total nausea and a funny feelign head. I knwo the pill works by fooling your body it's pregnant, but surely I can't put up with actually feeling pregnant all the time??
I'm a bit surprised by it all as I last took Yasmin 3 years ago and had no problems at all, but I've had my second dc since then so I wonder if my body just can't cope with the hormones?
So, bearing in mind I'm only 3 days in, is it worth me carryign on for a week or so and seeing if it settles down? And what kind of non-hormonal contraceptives can I consider? The coil scares me for this very reason- if I have a bad reaction to the pill I can just stop taking it. With the coil, it won't be that simple Confused

I can't tolerate hormones at all anymore, Yasmin was the last pill I tried before I gave up all together. GP said if I didn't get on with that one it'd be best to give up with hormonal contraception. I'd give it a month or maybe even two to be sure but TBH it sounds like it's not suiting you, but maybe your body will adjust.

I have the copper coil and get on just fine with it, no hormones, nothing to remember and it can stay where it is for 5 years. It's certainly worth looking into.

Some women have heaver and more painful periods on it, but I've not had that. I had mine fitted 6 weeks post partum and was BF so my body had ages to get used to it before my periods started again, I'm sure that really helped.

Thanks for the reply :)
I'll certainly look into the coil. I have to say my impression of the contraception service here is not good. I called to get an appointment to get prescribed the pill as I didn't want to take a Drs appointment for somehting so routine, but they hadn't a single appointment for more than 3 weeks Shock. I called my surgery, and I didn't even need an emergency appointment to get seen the same day. I might see if my surgery does them on site. I'm overdue a smear as well, is that somehting that can be done at the same time?
