jessicaandbumpsmummy · 21/09/2005 08:01

Jess is booked in for her MMR today, but she just doesnt seem "right" in my eyes..... do i still take her?

She's a bit coughy and being geenrally clingy - not really like her.

Im not sure what the guidlines are on the MMR and whether or not she is ok to have it or not

Could you give the docs a ring before you go to get their advice ? or NHS direct ?

'children can be immunised even during a cold- unless there is a high fever-and whils taking medicines, even antibiotics'

Taken from the little red book itself!!!

auntymandy · 21/09/2005 08:51

it also says 12 to 18 months.

Jimjams · 21/09/2005 08:55

I wouldn't immunise with a cold- could be the start of say chickenpox- and not wise to give MMR with chickenpox. More likelt to work the longer you leave it anyway. Reschedule, you'll only worry more otherwise.

I agree with Jimjams (who knows her stuff it seems to me)
no harm in waiting till she's better

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 21/09/2005 11:37

have cancelled and rebooked for next week.... she's not right, wont eat, and jsut gone down for a sleep TOO easily!

Hope to god she's ok..... might whip her round docs this afternoon if things get worse.

THANK YOU ALL xxx
