Excessive dribbling- what causes it except for teeth?

DD is 15mo and for the past couple of days has had awful dribbling, soaking t-shirts. She was sent home form nursery with a temp, but didnt have one when i got her home. i have been giving her calpol or nurofen. she is having disturbed sleep and is crotchety.

is there anything else other than teeth it could be? i cant see or feel any coming and she has only just had her premolars.

my ds2 (25 months) has been dribbling a lot for the past week (having never ever dribbled before) he had a week long cold (and possibly molars coming through) which has now turned into an ear infection (with high fever) and a course of antibiotics. however ds1 used to dribble with every sniffle/cough/cold etc

thanks zoned, will watch out for ear things. she has never dribbled before either. she has a permanent snotty nose so i dont tend to notice colds Blush
