mooncup after childbirth

Ahem - a slightly delicate subject but here goes.

I have happily (and slightly smuggly) used a mooncup for about ten years. I recently had my first period, eight months after having my DS. I used my old mooncup. Even though I am now over thirty and have had a child I thoguht I would see how the other one fitted before changing sizes. There were no leaks, but I did experience some soreness when putting the mooncup in and taking it out. Is this normal? Is it just something I have to put up with now? Should I get the one for women over thirty and who have had children? Any advice/experiences would be welcomed.

I thought the >30/child one was bigger? so can't see how that would help re soreness. are you just a bit out of the hang of it maybe with not having used it for a year and half?

I thought it was bigger too, but now I am wondering if it is softer? I think that perhaps I may be a little bit out of the habit, but the soreness is quite distinct feeling. Was hoping that somebody might say, 'yes, yes, it was like that for me too, but it went after a bit.'
Perhaps I should add that I did have stitches.

Oooh - horay. Hi ThinnerverVetch. It was a pretty good delivery - only gas and air, no intervention, and I tore (sorry if tmi) I had a second degree [is that the right phrase?] tear.

Your experience sounds quite a bit more harrowing. How long did the soreness last? (if you don't mind).

PS - I have a friend who went back to the pre-birth one.
