My dd (2.5 yrs) has had diorrhea for 12 days now. The GP says it will disappear on its own; there's nothing he could give her!
Does anybody know of any treatment, alternative medicines I could give her!
I'm getting rather worried now and also fed up with changing nappies a dozen times a day!
Thanks for any suggestions!

Sounds horrible. The longest my DD has had diorrhea for was 10 days and after a week the doctor took a sample and sent it to the hospital to rule out any bacterial infection.
I assume your dd is getting plenty of fluids? Have you tried dioralye - If he will take it that is - I know mine won't.
I was also told to awaoid milk and milk products and just give very plain food until it had gone. Ie the usual advice for upset stomachs which I'm sure you already have heard.
Lots of syumpathy though and hope it clears up soon. If not go back to the doctors again and try to get him to take it more seiously.

Avoid fruit and fruit juices. The only exception to this is banana and apple sauce. I find even half a banana will constipate my ds. So when he does get the occasional bout of diarrhea, I give him bananas.

diarolyte is all i can suggest, and plenty of fluid intake as well.
hope she gets better soon.

If you can manage not to feed her for 24 hours, that's always sorted things out for me. Water with some sugar in it will give a little energy boost plus stop dehydration. Avoid anything fatty.

Hope she's better soon.

Poor little thing, and how horrible for you. Is she by any chance on any medication - antibiotics are often a culprit. Otherwise can only suggest as previous posters to limit food intake to plain foods such as toast (those crispbake toastlike biscuits are quite good especially if contain minerals), rice, carrot soup(!), and use a rehydration fluid such as Dioralyte for at least 24 hrs. No dairy at all.

If it is not improving after that go back to the doctors as it should probably be investigated further.
