I used to do my back in once in a blue moon, then it got to be a couple of times a year...and over the years it's gradually increased. This year I did my back in several times, and most of the time it feels fragile or stiff, especially after doing something physical like the housework. So I'd really like to get it seen to and sorted out. As much as this is a priority, I am also on a low income so can't afford numerous expensive therapy sessions.

I was thinking to go for Osteopathy. Has anyone had any success with that, and how many sessions did it take? I know it's different for everyone, but just to get a general idea. Also I was considering seeing a supervised student so that it's cheaper? Other things I've considered are acupuncture and craniotherapy. Would find it helpful to hear about your experiences, thanks!

ahh i am in sussex, so prob not much help to you!

prices vary, i think my friend's Aunt charges somewhere between £30 and £45 a session

the guy i love (Stuart Korth) is the godfather of osteopathy, he charges £75 for an initial consultation and £65 thereafter

Thanks anyway thisisyeasterday. I think that's the other thing i'm trying to decide, whether to cough up and see someone well recommended but pricey (but maybe not need to see them that many times) or to go to a training college where it'll be much cheaper.

Have you considered getting an inversion table? like this

My DH had alot of problems with his back in the summer (minor slipped disc problems) and on the recommendation of his osteopath bought one of these (for the price of an hour with an osteopath) You hang upside down on this for about ten minutes a day to start with.

Three months on, he now uses it every other day and the results are miraculous. Might be worth a try if you have room for it.

Wow that looks great, thanks BrigitBigKnickers, I will definitely look into it. And it's good for anti ageing too so that's a good bonus!
