Exercise induced asthma? Anyone have it?

DH has had a cough for ages, he mainly gets it when exercising but coughs other times too. It was really bad but easing off, but when he goes for a run he has to stop and cough up phlegm. He went to docs twice - once he was told to take a certain cough medicine - that's nearly all gone now - and this time he has told him to see the asthma nurse. He says he doesn't get a tight chest, just the cough and green/yellow phlegm. Does asthma sound likely? He is getting fit for the RAF so asthma would be devastating to say the least. :(

I have exercised induced asthma. Wheezing and coughing only a problem when ill or exercsing. Dont suffer from coloured phlegm with it. I believe the colour of the phlegm is a possible indication for infection. It might be that exercising whilst poorly is causing the more asthma like systoms. Dont they say with colds and viruses: above the head exercise, below rest? or have i got that the wrong way around.

It does seem more like a chest infection, but then the same doc told me to gargle asprin for tonsilitis HmmGrin He gets it when resting too, I so hope it isn't EIA

I have it. I also have cold weather induced asthma.
I have been on ventolin and serotide for it. Never helped. Then a locum gp suggested taking antihistamines as well. OMFG what a change. Years and years I suffered and all it takes is one little piraton a day.
