Last time I had one removed was 11years ago and cant remember.
Im having 2 removed on Friday from between my sholder blade and armpit, but just remembered I have a badminton touriment (and I cant spell) on Sunday.
Do you think it will be ok? I dont really want to back out, its the only time out I get once a week.
TIA

How big is it? Mine didn't hurt at all. A few stitches that were later removed- not dissolving.

Felt a bit like a scald/burn afterwards.
I had one removed from under each armpit and after local anaesthetic wore off they just stung.

Not much really, got quite itchy when the stitches were due out.

Sorry Lisa - I think you might have to skip the tournement. The wound itself isn't that sore, but I had one removed just to the side of the shoulder blade a few months ago and it was very uncomfortable for a couple of days, just because of where it was.

Like when you scrape the knuckle on a finger - the actual injury isn't so bad, but every time you bend your finger, or bang it on something it hurts.

Sorry Lisa, but I think it would be unwise to do the badminton thing.

My Dad had one removed from his back a few months ago, and they said he wasn't to stretch the skin as the excision will pop open - you need time to let it heal up before you go waving your arms around madly!

It may be sore, it may not - depends really, from person to person. Dad's wasn't too bad.

Hope it goes well x

I've just had 2 off, one on the underarm and one on my tummy. The underarm (well, the surgeon was being polite, it was really my boob) was fine, the tummy quite painful as that part of the body is more mobile.

You might be fine for the badminton but be prepared.

BTW, I had dissolvable stitches and DH said I should have had a collar on like the sort you put on dogs and cats after surgery as I have been fiddling with the knots that are left.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND that you do this.

My skin lesion removal was slightly painful afterward but only slightly i.e. easily sorted with a paracetemol. Oddly enough I had to have a wide lesion clearance after ward as my lesion turned out to be melanoma and I didn't have any pain afterward with that even though it was much bigger.
anyhow. You wont be able to play badminton I'm afraid especially if you've got stitches in. I would think you'd need to wait until at least the stitches come out to go back to sport etc.

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 22/10/2010 15:12

no stitches, they used heat to stop bleeding. Its not too bad tbh

Wow - did they just shave them off then? Sounds like it must have been quite a small wound.

Glad you're feeling Ok.

I would postpone aswell. I had simelar one, 2 stitches, very painful when moved arm for at least a week. 2 weeks till OK. I was surprised at the level of pain to be honest, mostly when i moved the area which is any time I did anything, good luck.

POFAKKEDDthechair · 22/10/2010 17:18

I want to get one removed. Do you have a ga or just a local? Do you have to go into hospital or just a local clinic? [hate hospitals] will they only remove it if they think it is dangerous? [sorry for questions hijack]

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 22/10/2010 17:21

They do it with local, at clinic and they said they didnt think the one that was bleeding but removed it to be safe.
