I have asthma and my inhaler hasn't helped

I would say I have mild asthma as I can go weeks without needing to use my reliever. I have just had tightness across my chest and a bit of difficulty breathing which has come out of nowhere. Have done 2 puffs of my reliever and the pain as gone but breathing isn't normal.

Are you on any other medications? Or are you supposed to be?

By the way, I would seriously consider complaining about that nurse. None of her behaviour has been at all professional from the sound of it.

I am on other meds. I did complain about the nurse, no one was bothered.

I take it none of the other meds have changed lately? I guess you would probably have thought of that. But something must have acted as a trigger. Anyway, definitely get seen asap.

Did you complain in writing to the practice about the nurse? I would do that and/or write to the PCT (obviously, when you've got your asthma sorted out).

i don't like ham, but if it helped me breath, i'd eat it. Smile

I have started on new meds this year but have been on them a good few months now. I go months with no problems so probably don't take it as seriously as I should, especially as I have other health issues which affect me more.

The doctor who prescribed them knew I have asthma but I will book an appointment with the nurse just to get some advice. Thank you.

No, I usually take paracetamol thought the neurologist said I could take co-codomol for pain relief. If I am going to have this pain all the time I am a bit worried about taking painkillers long term but then I usually only take them when things are really bad.
