Vulvar eczema

Bit personal hence the name change.

Does anyone know anything about vulvar eczema?

I've recently been diagnosed with this after a couple of years of having itchy and sore bits and slight tearing during sex (not much fun Sad). Thought it was thrush at first but it is this apparently. I don't have eczema anywhere else and never have.

Unfortunately, they say there isn't really a treatment - I've been given an emulsifying ointment (bit like vaseline) to wash with, and a steroid cream for when it's really bad, but they don't seem to help much.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything that worked for eczema elsewhere on the body that I could try?

Don't really want to have broken lady bits for the rest of my life Sad

TIA

Hey guys,

Im so glad I get to share my experience with all of you and you would understand. Ive had vulva eczema for many years, literally lost count. Ive used many creams which are a waste of time specially steroid creams, my vulva has scared so much and i'm trying to clear that away. I'm using lippu ointment for when I am sore and that helps so much the best cream I have ever used, was recommended by a Ayurvedic doctor. The cream does come from India but I definitely recommended it, I just need help with getting rid of the itching which is the cause of it otherwise I feel like using the cream will heal me for sure. any recommendations please let me know thank you.

Sometimes it’s trial and error which costs money buying creams and ointments. Glad you’ve found something that helps. Currently trying an ointment that had good reviews online that is all natural ingredients so hoping this might help.

Hey - I've been reading through all of this and it's super helpful as I've been suffering since Nov 2021. It started with a couple of paper cuts and now I spend most of my day on the sofa with ice packs held to my privates.

Lots of mentions of steroid cream use - has anyone found that these have made their situation WORSE?

Every time I am prescribed one by my dermo it causes an immediate burning that either straight away swells and stops me from being able to handle the pain or is a consistent increase in burning feeling and prolonged swelling?
Specifically I've tried: audevate, canesten HC cream, trimovate, elocon & timodine.

I've also used SO MANY moisturisers/ointments/emollients they suggested including: cetraben, epaderm, hydrolmol, e45 itch cream, aveeno baby barrier cream, and 50:fifty white base. Swapped to cheeky panda toilet roll, found some allergies which I've accounted for by removing all items with them in regardless of where I use them (colophony, linalool, limonene, balsam of peru)

The only one that didn't cause a huge flare up has been 50:fifty white base slathered on before and after using the bathroom every time, but even in using that only I got a massive flare up today with seemingly no reason! Like I say the only thing to help is ice ice ice all day.

Anyone else getting the burning from using the steroid cream, if so how do you get around it??
