All 4 memebers of my family have one by one had a sickness and or diahhroea combo this week, my turn was night before last. DH and i were similar that had both s and d where as kids had one or other, short lived all 3. I havenot been sick since 2am yesterday mornign and my last bowel movement was 5am yesterday am so last night i had a sandwich for tea and went to bed feeling a bit sicky but slept well - this morning felt fab and had a slice of toast and half a cup of tea then i had a loose movement and feel bubbly again. Guess tea was the wrong choice. Feel ok otherwise, have some imodioum in but dh says no as seals in bug - should i ? Had intentions also of going back to work tomorow but guessing now i shouldnt though feel a bit lame about this.

We were always advised (when living in the Tropics) not to take any poo stopper upper. The bug needs to leave rather than get arrested at the back entrance.
Hope you feel better soon. IIWY, i'd go down the oral rehydration route rather than solids.

Dioralyte? or tescos cheap coke?

I agree wholeheartedly with Kreecher. Bug needs escorting off the premesis. If you lock the 'back entrance' (Grin) it might start coming out the front door again.

Also agree with goodmanners. Coke is the best thing known to the human race, medically speaking. It's wonderful for settling tummies and fab as a hangover cure!

Thanks i have been poo free since 7am. Had a jacket potato about an hr ago (only a little plain one) and so far so good also some coke. I feel fine. Kids and DH have requested a chicken dinner for tea - selfish buggers!

Blush didn't look at posters' names! Glad you're feeling a bit better.

If my dh& dcs fancied a chicken dinner in the same circumstances I'd call the nearest carvery and book them a table!

Oo, I'd not have cauli myself. Not that close to a d&v outbreak. Gives me wind at the best of times!

goodmanners · 14/10/2010 13:18

really, ok i wont have the cauli but they can - chicken and rice would be ok for me though? cauli needs using its getting black spots.

Chicken and rice perfect for you. It's what I give everyone when they've had a bug, the dog included!

Am thinking of yummy cauli cheese now for tea. When the smells permeate the house I shall blame you entirely!

goodmanners · 14/10/2010 13:20
