Would you complain?

My GP prescribed a drug which you should avoid when breastfeeding, even though I specifically said I was. He also didn't check whether I was ttc, when you can't ttc for up to four months after taking it. If I hadn't googled and had just taken it... should I complain? How will I be treated by the GP if I do?

Ring NHS Direct and ask them - if in any doubt DO NOT TAKE the drug

What do want to come out of complaint? If you think that you will go and find a different doctor, then you can complain safe in the knowledge that you are 'protecting' his existing patients but no consequence to you. But if you want to stay on his books, is there a risk that it will affect your relationship? I wonder if you should tackle him first and give him a chance to defend his prescription. If he can't give a plausible explanation, how would you feel about saying to him 'what should I do now, knowing that you have prescribed this' - makes me cringe to think about doing this myself, but that would be the issue between you if you complained about him and stayed on his books...
