All started end of July, when I realised that I had to keep going for a wee all the time. Doctor gave me antibiotics for urine infection. Didn't help. Still felt the need to go for a wee all the time plus now had a very heavy feeling in my tummy, like something was pressing on my bladder. Very bad stomach pains. Went back to gp who sent my urine off to lab to test for infection, came back clear. Sent for an internal scan all clear, had scan of my abdomen which picked up gall stones. Doctor said gall stones were incidental and weren't causing the problem.

Fastforward 3 months and I'm still suffering. After I've been for a wee or bowel movement get pains in my tummy and still have frequency with wee. Have tried retraining my bladder, cutting our caffeine doesn't help. Strange how stomach pains always start after I've been to the toilet but then gradually disappear.

Went back to gp who by now thinks I am neurotic and said I need a referral to a colorectal doctor to check if its a problem with my bowel or colon. BUT surely this isn't right? Worried it was a prolapse but nurse said all looked normal when I had a smear test last week.

So worried now, this has taken over my life. These symptons started 16 weeks after I had a baby, so surely it must be related? Gp says no though... Any advice would be appreciated, should I be pushing to be referred to a gynae perhaps?

Yes, sounds like prolapse symptoms to me.

I think some physio would help, go to another GP, get second opinion and ask to be referred to someone who specialises in childbirth injuries, either gynae or specialist physio.

Sounds Gynae to me too:( especially the heavy feeling.. that's just how mine felt (prolapse, mild rectocele and cystocele) Pushing to have a poo (sorry!) made it hurt worse then it would improve but it felt achey if I stood up for long.
It may not be a prolapsed womb but the other bits (bladder, bowel) can ..and often do.. sag after child birth:(

I would go back, ask for gynae referral and in the meantime do those pelvic floor exercises!! I eventually did need a hysterectomy for mine but still wee more often than anyone I know!! However for lots of people the symptoms DO improve on their own , so it's not necessarily a long term problem:):)
