Have looked on various health sites, all they tell me is that I haven't got meningitis. Yeah, thanks for that.

Basically, on the bits in between my fingers (webbing?) I've got little rashes that look just like burns. They're a sort of reddish/orange. I did have a bit of dry skin here, but I think that got scratched off. They don't hurt, they don't really itch. They're a bit bumpy and shiny, like a burn.

I haven't burnt myself there, I haven't exposed myself to any chemicals that I can think of, and I wash my hands regularly and thoroughly.
Not sure what's causing it. Could be a reaction to too much hand washing I suppose, but that seems unlikely..
Anyone?

I had something like this on my fingers. If you press it at it feels like a needle inside. My GP told me it was pompholyx, a type of dermatitis. Washing up can cause it so use gloves. Now you can check pompholyx and everything related to hand dermatitis and see whether it is what you have got.

umm
give your gp a call?

Dermatitis?
Scabies?

Skyrg · 23/09/2010 16:21

It doesn't hurt or itch, that's the thing. All the things I've looked up have either pain or itching as a symptom.
Dermatitis for example apparently causes: itching, blisters, redness, swelling, and often oozing, scabbing, and scaling.
All I have is a slightly bumpy rash! Wondering if maybe I need to buy some gentler soap.

Gentle soap is always good. There are soap free "soaps" and non-perfume which can irritate the skin.
May be it is something fungal?
I think it is better to check with your GP.

Ok, I'll go if it doesn't get better. I hate bothering GPs..

I had something really similar a few years ago and it was washing up liquid that did it,wearing rubber gloves didn't help as the powder that is put in them to make them easy to put on irritated it more, try using cotton gloves under the rubber ones.

go and see your pharmacist. they are trained almost as GP in so many things and can advise. Most have small consulting rooms off the shop floor where you can show your bits- whatever they might be!

I meant, non-perfumed which do not irritate the skin.

Good idea purplepeony, don't much like going to the doctors. Lilyliz, I have to confess I never do the washing up, I have a slave boyfriend who does it all.
