I posted about this a while back but have now got the date. It is diagnostic and I have asked for it to be done with no anaesthesia etc.

Not sure what to expect. My dr seems worried it will hurt etc and has recommended that I have someone with me to take me home etc. (Worst case it is endometrial cancer so i wonder if he is thinking I might need emotional support.) However, he was worried that the biopsy would hurt and I was fine.

However, i am wondering how much time if any I might need afterwards to recover. Will I need to cancel work the following day- I am self-employed and see clients.

Any more experiences to report? some of you said you had had it done like me and it was nothing.

anyone? I don't know what to do about my DH taking a day off work- he offered, but TBH I'd rather get on with it all myself if it's straightforward. My friend met me after my biopsy- but this time she will be working- but apart from say anhour of feeling a tiny bit sore, i was fine.

Are you seeing Mr. Dooley?

purplepeony · 23/09/2010 20:01

oh- how did you guess? Smile

More likely he will be seeing me!

We agreed how fab he was on another thread. Grin I'm going to go see him again as am getting nowhere with my GP even though Mr.Dooley said he would be happy to see me on the NHS.

I soppose people vary on level of discomfort. DH says I have a low pain threshold.

Would you get the results straightaway?

As for working I soppose it depends what your job is. You probably wouldn't want to be doing heavy lifting.

purplepeony · 23/09/2010 20:33

no- my job is sittng down- I write. I think he will tell me there and then what he finds.

what are you seeing him for- don't say if you don't want to.

I have seen him for 2 years - most of which has been paid for by insurers, but I had to cough up for a few appts as they decided my condition was "ongoing". I don't begrudge paying though - would rather do so and cut back on other things.

I have started to miss periods and feel I have PMS for about half the month. Very bloated and feeling very spaced out!

I had a scan which thankfully was clear but some hormone tests were higher than normal range. Saw a female GP yesterday (thinking I would get more sympathy.lol) basically said accept it! Hmm

purplepeony · 23/09/2010 20:51

is this a meno thing?

Probably is perimenopause. She did ask me what age my mother went through it, but my mother had children young whereas I had my son in my forties.

Are you seeing him at Dorch?

purplepeony · 23/09/2010 20:59

No- I always go to London as I live an hour away door to door.

I'm sure he'll sort you out!

I hope everything goes well for you. Maybe take someone with you just for moral support if nothing else.

purplepeony · 23/09/2010 21:08

Thanks! Hope you get to see him.

Hi Purple Peony. I posted on your last thread. I would definitely take someone with you for moral support and to drive you home as you might feel a bit wobbly after the procedure. You should be fine for work the following day.Best of luck.

Thanks Tilly.
