Hi,I have just turned 41, with a 2-year-old,4 and 7 year old

was feeling a bit fat and knackered to went to rule out health probs b4 going on serious diet and getting our non-sleeping 2 year old into better routine.
My doc suggested bloot tests and when I went back told me I was perimenopausal and asked if I wanted HRT.
I was a bit gobsmacked and said no but now feel very confused.
I have had no symtoms other than one period was a bit late (back on track now) but have no hot flushes, no mood swings,no nothing.feel totally fine but just tired (but have literally not had one night's sleep through in two years).
My oestrogen levels were 320 but I havenoidea what that means. Can anyone help please.
It seems weird tothink thatlast yearI was breast feeding and this year I am menopauasal without even knowing....

Hello,

I am not an expert on menapause, but having miscarried recently I have learned a whole lot about hormone tests.

There are actually three hormones that relate to the amount of estrogen you are producing:

Estradiol, Estriol and Estrone.

A high estradiol level would indicate that your ovarian reserve is low but its really important that this test is done at the right point in your cycle (Day 2)

High Estrone levels also indicate menapause (before menapause they should be about the same level as your estradiol result).

Estriol is normally only measured in pregnancy so probably was not part of your test.

Have you got a copy of your results to see exactly what you were tested for?
If so, you can see what it all means here

Hope this helps, and hopefully someone more expert in this area will be along soon.
