Does anyone have/get cramp when driving?

Last night driving home from a meal (no alcohol involved) I got a really bad cramp in my leg/foot

Fortunately I was able to pull over safely and walk it off but it was really scary; on a motorway/in busy traffic I could have caused a bad accident

If you do get it, does it happen often?

Can I prevent it?

you need more magnesium. i used to get loads of leg cramps when young, it was very painful. found the cure and it works very well.

I wonder if that's something I can eat or if it's just supplements?

I often get cramp in my feet driving (and legs) particularly in heavy/ slow traffic using the clutch alot. I think it is because I have small feet and short legs so cannot rest my feet on the floor (the clutch is too high). Some cars are worse than others. Wearing a bit of heel or a triner with a thicker sole help, and in a previous old car I had a thin wedge fixed to the floor under the rubber mat to raise the floor level) - I am not sure that can be done now. I eat bananas and nuts -think they contain magnesium.

Don't really eat either of those - I'll see about suppliments

Pressure of the car seat on the back of the legs can be a problem too - if the seat is too big for you (affecting the blood flow in the lower legs). I use a back support to push me forward a bit.
Porridge is supposed to be good too and tonic water - although that is the quinine not the magnesium! I have no expertise - just a sufferer so best to check it all out!

Hmm - maybe it's a different car to normal - I'll monitor it

Thanks
