I am so fed up

Was diagnosed with Endo 10 years ago had my 3rd operation in january to remove it and have never really been painfree since the op , now I have been referreed back to the hospital for further investigation . I am so so fed up , I want a hysterectomy but keep getting told I am too young as I am 35 but due to the damage the lost op did I cant have children anyway.

Anyone have any advice or just tell me something to make me smile

oh dear Olijackmum you sound really down. Can I ask how was the endo removed? Are you under a specialist endo consultant? If not you NEED to research and find one pronto.

This is an illness that only a specialist understands, I too was referred to a general gyno who wipped me in for surgery and said everything will be fine....6 weeks later pain returned, I was so angry so after lots of research particularly via this site endoboard.yuku.com/directory and please have a read of this it really opened my eyes to how they remove nowaways

I am on painkillers and am being scanned to monitor endo surgery will be last resort if it gets really bad

find a specialist in endo in your area on this site and do research on them
www.drfosterhealth.co.uk/consultant-guide/ or go onto the sites above and ask if anyone can recommend a consultant in your area

Fellow endo sufferer here. You have certainly been through a lot to date.

www.endometriosis-uk.org is a good website and there is a helpline number you can call if you wish.

How do you know that the last op did so much damage, were you actually informed of this post surgery?.

Would have to say that a hyst is not always the procedure of choice these days as endo can be cited in many areas of the body (intestines for instance) and a hyst may not actually be the end of these problems. Also your ovaries would need to be removed at the same time thus plunging you into surgical menopause.

At the very least I would seek a second opinion regarding your options and talk it through with a gynae cons. You really need to talk to a specialist gynae with bags of experience at treating endo and an interest in it.

You will need to be persistant in order to get answers.

thanks for your information , yes I am really really down over it

With my last op they had to cut away the adhesions as they were to big and deep to be lasered , never actaully got told where they were
They told me after my op alot of damage had been done.

The other times I have had it I have been painfree for about 3 years between each surgery but with this one I havnt been painfree at all and it is just getting worse each month. I just want an end to it all .

do research on a consultant/surgeon in your area...most do private an NHS or NHS clinics at private hospitals where waiting lists are very short - ask your GP to refer you to this person I did and got an appt within 4 days
