i am having a complete nightmare with bites and need help please.

currently bites all over body, coming at night and daytime, haven't found what exactly is biting me so must be small and hidden. night time bites are waking me up - havent had proper sleep for over a week.

this hasnt happened to us since last november, when we were bitten like crazy for a few weeks, sprayed everywhere, washed everthing etc etc, then nothing until now.

before that, we had been bitten in our rented house, for months and months and months, we hired rentokil twice, ended up throwing out all upstairs furniture when we moved house, and took all our clothes to dry cleaners.

so this saga running for afew years, and i am just devasted that whatever is biting us is back.

its destroying our marriage, and our sanity, and our peace of mind.

what on earth can we do????
we have hunted for bedbugs but cant find anything anywhere, but dont know of another creature that would hassle like this and could hibernate for long periods .

please help me

Can't be bedbugs if you are getting them in the day - suggest cat fleas. The local authority can spray for you - that will kill them.

Have you checked right in the edge of the mattress? Apparantly their feces is very easy to spot.

Would also agree that bedbugs would not bite you in the daytime.

Have you any pets? Fleas can also lay dormant for a while.

Fleas, even if you don't have pets - previous tenants may have had pets that left them there and they can lay dormant for years potentially. Depending what is sprayed it may control things for a while but unless it treats all stages of the flea life cycle it is possible for the eggs to hatch later after the chemicals have long since gone, the chemicals having only killed off the later stages perhaps? Repeated spraying may be the only way to deal with this.

sounds like fleas.

Thanks for your comments, I haven;t really considered fleas so will look into this further.

bedbugs.....whereabouts are the bites on your bodies and where did they start.

my other thought was scabies as this can be a long term problem. What sort of rash do you have and have you got any pictures. Used to work in dermatology,so might be able to point you in the right direction
