DD sore skin in folds under her neck - advice please

So my DD is 8 weeks old, gorgeous and a greedy guzzeler when she eats (down side she gets really bad wind and colic) she has gone from a slender 6lbs 14 to an ample 11 lbs 3 and now has lost her neck under lots of chins! She is sick a lot and often in the night and gets sick stuck in there. I am constantly trying to keep it clean to stop it getting sore and smelly, but it has got very red and looks sore. I've rubbed some olive oil in, as we're trying not to use any chemicals on her. Anyone had this problem or can give some advice?

Sudocrem is excellent - makes a good barrier

You can also use Vaseline

My DD was like this. Use the same kind of barrier cream you would for the nappy area, one with plenty of zinc oxide. Neals Yard do an excellent one.

vaseline hope it gets better soon :)

oh, you're not using baby wipes to clean it are you? clean water is best

Waitrose bottom butter, no petro chems, parabens etc just organic olive oil and vanilla. Beautiful stuff, have used on my own face, elbows etc Around 2.50, lasts forever

Vaseline but if it's still looking really sore after a couple of days the GP will give you steroid cream (sounds alarming but it's only 1% and does the trick quickly.)

And no wipes.

Sudocrem.

It's very normal don't worry. :)

Treat it basically the same as nappy rash keep clean and dry and if soreness develops apply a barrier cream of some kind I would go for something a bit thicker than olive oil (there are plenty of "natural" options if you don't want to use conventional chemical products.

I used pure aloe vera on my DS's as I didn't want to use any nasty chemicals

you can get it from good chemists

DD2 was exactly the same poor wee thing - she was a pukey baby too, so her wee neck folds nver seemed to get a chance to dry out. What we did - put her backwards over your lap with her head hanging down to get her wee creases opened up. Good clean with cotton wool and water. Leave to air dry (in same position if possible) Then we used conotrane cream - which we think is magic! Took a wee while to clear up - but it did eventually

Kamilosan.

Or Eight Hour Cream.

This happened to my DD. I put sudocrem on and this helps healing and also acts as a barrier to more sick making it sore.
