Anybody know anything about Molten Tumours?

FIL has been told he has one in his knee.

He had calcification in the same knee 10 years ago which was operated on and now he has this lump which they have said is a Molten Tumour (soft centered).
He wasn't too bothered about it at first because I think he thought it was something similar to what he had before and it was just a case of having a routine operation to get rid of it but...

the hospital have asked him to go in for an appointment with the Breast cancer specailist.

Does this mean it is cancer or is it just because of the type of tumour he has?

Any experience or knowledge would be grateful.
TIA.

I've googled but it doesn't give anything on Molten Tumours and when I entered soft centered tumours the sites it gives me, I can't understand.
