The difference between a dental nurse and a dental hygenist?

Can anybody tell me the differences between these two jobs?

How does the training differ? Which qualifications does each role require?

What is the approximate difference in salary?

How do the jobs themselves differ?

Many thanks if anyone can let me know.

Hygenist is a three year course and after qualifying you can work independently and earn a bomb but I think the course is pretty hard work.
I dental nurse as far as I know you can train while working (I think) At the end I think you are an assistant to a dentist and earn pennies.

here's the job description of dental nurse:

www.harrietellis.com/how-to-become-a-dental-nurse/

a hygienist requires more experience, a nurse is pretty much an assistance to an hygienist in normal circumstances.

The overwhelming majority of dental hygienists (& dental therapists) in the UK have first been a registered dental nurse.
