Alligator feet- how do I 'cure' them??!

Sorry, perhaps a bit flippant on a Topic with many folks suffering real problems, but thing is, my feet are a cracked, dry, fissured mess, at least around my heels and the side of the ball of my feet! It's a summer problem.

What should I do? (yes, apart from not wearing Crocs!) Blush

Went camping and the combo of damp feet (post shower, damp grass) and beach 'did' for my feet till they were really quite sore as the splits kept cracking!

Soaking with what? Professional help? (though can they help whilst one's cracking is 'active'? - and what would it cost?), urea based creams?

Anyone?!

Chiropody then ped egg+flexitol. I pay £30 every 8 weeks.

What does your chiropodist actually do? Can you 'talk me through' a typical visit? Ta!

Slather urea based cream over them and put on socks. Repeat, then use file once the cracks have healed to remove the alligator scales. I never learn and have to do this regularly as I like walking around our house and garden barefoot.

Flexitol, or Scholl Cracked HEEL CREAM and foot file. But keep at it everyday (fellow reptile feet owner)

Ooops sorry didn't mean to shout heel cream at youGrin

Believe me, my feet need a good shouting at! Grin

Thanks for the advice, appreciated.

Chirpodist uses a special blade to scrape off dead skin, smooth it off, trims toenails to prevent ingrowing - veeeeery good.
