Heart attacks - how many can you get away with?

My Grandmother had her first in her late 50s. She has had several since. Now 82, she had one last week (confirmed by GP) took aspirin and didn't want to "bother anyone in the middle of the night"

She had rheumatic fever as a child which affected her heart. My count to date is 5 heart attacks!

I plan to go visit next month, she sounded quite chipper tonight, but should I go sooner? I live abroad so not so cheap and easy on the practical front....

obviously impossible to answer without a crystal ball BUT, as my granny used to say- often it's the rickety gate that hangs on the longest. and she died at 94 after several heart attacks over many years.

she does need to know that nobody minds her asking for help in the middle of the night. i work for nhs24 and have called scores of ambulances for suspected heart attacks and it doesn't always mean a trip to the hospital... paramedics have equipment that can rule out a cardiac arrest so they are the most clinically safe option.

maybe her GP could have a chat with her, explaining the importance of a speedy response when dealing with chest pains?

taking that aspirine means she got lesser damage :)
let's hope all is good for her
