thats the question really.
i heard it somewhere.
i have huge piles for a long time.
now it bleeds from time to time.
i would like to know the reason.
also, did you manage to get rid off them and how?
i will be really grateful for your answers, because this bleeding is really making me nervous.

Not sure but you really put me off my breakfast!

I have reasd on a site that spicy food can make them bleed (also 'heavy' food - not sure what that it). You need to drink a lot of fluids too to keep your stools soft.

Bite the bullet and see your doctor.

No.

But lack of fibre and insufficient fluid intake will not help - if you're passing harder stools that will make them bleed.

If they're internal, go and buy some Germolene/Anusol suppostories (these are available in the supermarket, you won't have to ask anyone for them!). If they're external try using a haemorrhoid cream or gel on them.

If it hurts when you wipe after going to the loo you can also buy Germolene wet wipes which will soothe them.

But if you're having bleeding regularly, and after you've treated like this, then you really do need to and see the doctor.

Don't be embarrassed about going; they will have seen it all before.

I would say try the creams/suppostiories/wipes for a couple of weeks - make sure you're eating/drinking properly - and if no improvement then go and see the GP.

sorry wahwahwah, i was so wrapped up with this problem, i should put it better.
i went to doctor, he didnt examine much but from a bit far he could see and said they are huge.
i have a referral for next month to sort them out, i dont know what will be done exactly.
but at the moment i need to stop the bleeding. sometimes it stops, sometimes it starts again.
last night i searched on net and saw lots of treatments.
i used anusol, but when it bleeded. it stopped a bit, then didnt help. now i am using an ointment but havent seen anyone using it.
i dont have pain, but a burning sensation sometimes.
i guess they start from inside and go to outside.
maybe they dry up and bleed.
i think i have ibs problem as well for somtime, and i am used to pushing because of that.
stools soft.
sorry again if i put anymore people off their food.

Next month???? No, call your doctor now and get down there and see what can be done. You can'y be expected to suffer bleeding and discomfort. Use some liquid laxative to help you stop pushing - that can't help and do keep up yor liquid intake.

Call your surgery now and make a huge fuss until someone sees you.

lal123 · 13/08/2010 10:24

wahwahwah - next month is only a couple of weeks away???

BecauseImWorthIt · 13/08/2010 10:26

If you're having to push you may be a bit constipated (which won't be helping either your haemorrhoids or your IBS).

What's your diet like? Are you eating enough fibre - from fresh veg/salad/fruit?

Do you drink enough fluid?

But I agree with wahwahwah - if you can, you need to see someone sooner.

bintofbohemia · 13/08/2010 10:26

noraa - huge sympathies, it's bloody crap isn't it. I've had treatment and mine are still there. I dunno if there's any way of permanently getting rid? (Should add that am sure the procedure works for some people, just not me!)

Agree you should try to get seen quicker.

wahwahwah · 13/08/2010 10:30

A couple of weeks at the earliest - with bleeding piles. No thank you!

noraa · 13/08/2010 10:51

thank you all.
i went to doctor when it was bleeding. he didnt seem to offer much, only the anusol and the ointment i have. and he made the referral which is mid of next month.
there is a pharmacy there as well, i'll ask if they can advise me something, if not i will speak to the surgery.

i thought i should give an update.
first of all, thanks to all you, you encouraged me to go to surgery.
i didnt ask surgery anything, got emergency appointment -first time- and seen by the doctor.
the doctor did a good examination and gave another kind of ointment and suppositors and told me not to strain in toilette.
i am told the hospital wouldnt take my appoinment to an earlier date.
anyways, thanks again for your encouragement and support :)
