that's it really, dd is 2 I had a horrible experience which has taken me a while to get over, not sure if now I'm feeling like it's all in the past - most of the time, if I want to drag it all up again.
I've been given an opportunity to go in a few weeks and just wondered what other people's experiences were? was it helpful or not?

I did and yes it helped. Partly because with all the drugs fed into me and the tiredness/stress I didn't actually remember the entire course of events and it was helpful to see why, from the medics point of view, things happened when they did.

Go. It'll help you understand and plan for next time.

Yes, I found it helped. I went when DS was 1 as I hadn't got round to it before that.

I had had an em cs with DS, the cs itself wasn't a problem but I wanted more info on how events unfolded, it was even worse than I had realised as she told me to never attempt a natural birth again. I also wanted to have a bloody good moan about the dreadful post-natal care, boy did I get that off my chest. The midwife agreed with me on the poor care so I knew not to take any crap when I had my second DC.

The midwife just had my notes and we spent an hour going through everything bit by bit, I would certainly recommend a session.

Do you mean how long afterward you can call them? Don't think so but they will have put your records in long term storage after a year.

You can ask them - it might be worth talking to someone from the Birth Trauma Association too.

thanks for your thoughts, it sounds like it might be worth a try if only for closure. Sadly I don't think another pregnancy would be an option after last times fiasco, but I would like to be less angry about the experience Smile

I found them extremely helpful after my home birth didn't work out. Would definately recomment it to anyone...
