Does anyone elses baby fart like a trooper?? My darling daughter is nearly 8 weeks old and for the last week or so has been farting very loudly!

totally normal and so funny, my daughter has been that way since she was about the same age! thank your lucky stars, better out that stuck in, and giving sore tummy! x

My LO was a real trumper too when he was about the same age. Since he was PFB and I had no clue about babies, I just thought they all farted day in day out until a really nasty MW came round to visit and gave me a stern talking to for not winding him properly :( Blush

I had no idea and felt so guilty but after that any time he started farting I was to pick him up, put him on my shoulder (burping stylee) and just gently rub his back in circles until he burped/farted all his wind out. It really helped to cut back on his farting and he slept better too.

Other Mums that I had asked about it just said "Oh yes, they fart all the time" and he still farted after that just not as much. Hopefully this helps a bit - the nasty MW also gave me a right going over for having a certain baby book on the coffee table when she came in AND she had a word with me for bringing DS to the door with me when she arrived :( I felt really awful. Sorry to rant again - I am having a hormonal day!

Good luck with DD's tummy settling :)

heheh it's so funny.
I used to blame DH for those awful rattlers that would drown out the tv.

Oh yes, DD loves to fart. IME no amount of winding ever helped. But at 8 weeks old, it's still socially acceptable, at least...

Can be a sign of lactose intolerance, but if there are no other signs then don't worry.
