Does anyone know about hormones - pregnancy ones and around period times?

I still suffer from pelvic girdle pain after my pregnancy with ds2. We are trying to decide whether or not to ttc dc3, and the likelihood of my pgd worsening significantly is a big factor in deciding.

I find that my pain eases a lot in the week or so before my period starts. What's going on with my hormones about that time, and how does that compare to what happens during prgenancy?

I'll be very grateful to anyone who can help to answer these questions.

Can you borrow 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' by Toni Weschler from the library?

TBH I can't remember which hormones drop and raise at which times but I know this book covers it all pretty well.

It could be the relaxin rise at the end of your menstrual cycle relaxing the ligaments in your pelvis temporarily (see here for info). Relaxin is also produced during pregnancy so that your ligaments can relax enough to allow your pelvis to have the flexibility for the baby to be born (see here). There may be exercises you can do to strengthen your muscles to compensate for the extra weight you carry when pregnant, a physio should be able to help if you can get a consultation via your GP.

I've been seeing a physio for a good while now, my muscles (core and pelvic floor) are a lot stronger now than when we started.

My worst pain is now in my right sacro iliac joint. It always seems easier before my period starts, which makes AllSheepareWhite's post sound quite encouraging in terms of a 3rd pregnancy.

I will try to get hold of that book aswell - thanks for the recommendation moaningminniewhingesagain
