Come on girls - do your thang...

The Breast Cancer site is having
trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their
quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged
woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on
"donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the
number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

thanks

I received this email too and did click through - but I did botice it's an American site

"The Breast Cancer Site store are giving the gift of early detection to women in need in Los Angeles, California, and Mississippi"

I'm still glad I clicked through though I just hadn't realised it wasn't in the UK.

jayzmummy · 20/08/2005 18:48

Why Cod?
Hope I havent been hoodwinked into posting this if its not going to be of benefit.

so does it not benefit anyone?

SaintGeorge · 20/08/2005 18:55

It is genuine - even Snopes say it is.

It does take an awful lot of clicks for a mammogram though (about 58,000) and it is for the USA not the UK.

SaintGeorge · 20/08/2005 18:59

Sorry, just read Snopes again. 45,000 clicks for one mammogram, approximately 58,000 clicks per day so 1.3 mammograms donated.

Could still be 1 life saved though.

mumtosomeone · 20/08/2005 19:47

so its a good thing!?

SaintGeorge · 20/08/2005 22:17

Yes, it is a good thing.

I am confused by cod's posts to be honest. Didn't realise earlier that she has cut and pasted from snopes, yet still says it is bollocks. If you read it it clearly says that it is a genuine campaign, although not a charity. The fact that the company involved raises revenue from the site is no reason not to spend 30 seconds clicking on a link if it means someone in need might get a much needed mammogram.

BadgerBadger · 21/08/2005 01:37

FWIW, I don't see the harm in clicking, either.

So what if someone is making a bit on the side? No skin off my nose, plus, of course, a click will go part way towards someone receiving a mammogram, from what I understand.

It would be ideal if less clicks were necessary to fund each mammogram, ho hum.... (in a 'that's life' kinda way!)

mumtosomeone · 21/08/2005 06:44

well I have clicked again to keep it going!!!

mumtosomeone · 21/08/2005 06:45
