Simple manifesto summaries

Does anyone know where I can find simple summarises of the party manifestos?

Something like short bullet point lists that are comparable. Ie what they want to do on education, NHS, the economy, immigration, housing. But no waffle or analysis and unbiased?

I am trying to put together information for my elderly mother who doesn't have the internet and who has (early) Alzheimer's but is still capable of making decisions if she has the information in an easy format.

Thank you for replying. They are ok- I could just take their headlines. Sadly all the analysis is probably too much.

I was hoping there was already an easy read guide to the parties policies somewhere. Preferably quite simple and short.

Does anyone else know of any? Otherwise I'm going to have to knock one up myself Sad

Thank you. Yes, that kind of thing was what I was thinking of, maybe just their headline policies and for areas other than tax.

It's quite sad this basic policies summary doesn't seem to exist.

My young adult DC (1st time voter) couldn't understand why every household isn't provided with a summary sheet covering of basic party policies and also of who the local options were.

Their reasoning was there were a lot of people not voting because they're either not interested in politics or don't understand it and surely that would help them and increase the number voting.

I actually think they're onto something there!

That is basically what I am putting together for my Mum.

A bit about how the election works (voting for local MP not the party leader), ID she needs and that it is one X in one box. There are lots of Easy Read guides to elections. I think I used Mencap's.

Then a list of our candidates, their party, party logo (so she can recognise the picture on the ballot paper) and a photo of the candidates (these were remarkably tricky to find for some- not sure why they're bothering!)

A short statement from each candidate about them and what they'll do for the constituency. If I could find one!

And finally, I wanted a short summary of the policies of each party but I can't find this!

For PCC elections in May, you could go online and request a booklet about the candidates but weirdly this doesn't exist for the GE. It worked really well with Mum who read it all and chose who she wanted. .. even if she did need to be reminded in the polling booth.

Well done BBC! They have now got the basis of what I want on their website!

BBC News - Who should I vote for? Compare 2024 election manifestos and policies - BBC News

Just in case this is useful for anyone else!
