Hang on. I've figured out out. Forget my last post.

It's acute cystitis.

Pyelitis and pyaemia.

Stringagal · 18/03/2024 00:32

Pyelitis and pyaemia?

The first is an infection starting with a UTI, the second is an abscess / septicaemia.

TheShellBeach · 18/03/2024 00:32

Pyelitis is inflammation/ infection of the kidneys.

Pyaemia is an old fashioned way of saying septicaemia/sepsis.

How long ago was this? Before antibiotics?

TheShellBeach · 18/03/2024 00:34

At age 32, she could easily have died of sepsis (or kidney disease) before there were modern treatments.

Even now people die of these things.
