We have been researching family tree for some time. My husband was told his mum came over to England form Germany aged 8, we have found some transport (illegal refugee) records saying she was actually 6 but this is neither here nor there. The issue is the man who she called dad and she insists 100% is her dad. Making her half German half English brought her over with her mum and married her mum 1953. Mum and daughter seem to have had mums maiden name prior to that, she had previously had two children who took their German dads name then MIL who seems to have gone by he mums maiden name. Before eventually changing to married name in 1953. Problem is although I have access to myheritage site and we are currently waiting DNA results back for his test. We can't seem to find any German sites or sites where we can search German records of births. Does anyone know any good sites to search this either cheap or free or that I can access with my current myheritage subscription.

You won't find any German birth records online anywhere within the past 110 years due to their strict data protection provisions. You need to know the place where the birth took place and then you can write to the local Standesamt (register office) to request a copy of the birth certificate. But you can only do this if you are a direct descendant (and you will need to show proof of this when submitting your request).

@StressedOutButProudMama There is the Anglo German Family History Society, you might find useful info on their website. AGFHS.
