How realistic is this ?

Researching DH's family and it appears that his great granduncle married a woman 14 years older than him.
I think that's very unusual for the time.
He was about 22 and she was 36 when they married. It was in the early years of the 20th century.
I really need to see their marriage certificate don't I !!!

There were 11 children in the bride's family - male and female so the "male heir" theory isn't a factor.

I'm a bit Shock that you have to pay to see the 1921 census in the UK.
So far, touch wood, we don't have to pay in Ireland to view the census.
However there was no census taken in 1921 in Ireland due to the War of Independence and the Civil War that followed.
The next census taken was 1926.

@LadyEloise1 I have a Subscription To Find my past which includes access to 1921 census so it's no hardship to look people up
