Hi, please help!! The screen of my laptop is now at a 90 degree angle!!! Not sure how or why this has happened but it is a big pain. Even mouse is operating in the same way. DD2 decided to bang the keyboard about 2 seconds before it happened ... not sure if that's related.

I have tried switching it off and on again....

Help!!!!

I had this happen when our cat sat on it and it does happen now whenever our computer goes onto standby I dont know why and I dont ask) For mine you press control, alt and then the arrows for whichever way you want it to go.
I am so chuffed I can finally pass this info on! (Just hope notbeing overly smug and it doesnt work!)

Have only seen this possible on a laptop, and I think there's something on the menu you can get, which allows you to 'lock' it from happening, meaning accidental 90 degree changes should be avoidable!

It may be possible on some desktops, for those who like to see a whole page of A4 on screen (and have a screen than can be rotated to it is 'portrait' shape instead of the more common 'landscape'. Of course most laptops can have a second screen plugged in so someone typing on a laptop could make use of it in a similar way.

on my laptop, right-clicking on an unused part of the desktop gets a small menu, which includes Graphics Properties and Graphics Options. Choose Graphics Options and then if you see Hot Keys you can enable or disable them... I've disabled mine.

Even without the hot keys allowing 'instant' rotations, there's still a menu item so it can be done if needed, for a presentation, via the menu rather than via keyboard.

Ah thanks for that NetworkGuy!
Have done it so fingers crossed will never happen to me again!
