iPod in car?

OK, don't laugh before I start!

I haven't got an iPod, but wondered if I did get one, would there be a way that I could use it to play out of the radio in my car?
And if I could, would it be expensive?

Thank you

Depends on your car - a lot of newer cars have an MP3 socket now (mine does). In our old car we bought a converter - we only had a tape player, one end of the converter had a cassette to stick in the player and the other end went into the iPod. Worked a treat!

It's brilliant having your entire music library in the car

Oh, and as for expense, the converter thing cost about a tenner I think.

I think you might be able to do with the AUX outlet?

Just checked amazon - you can get a cable for less than £6 here. So one end in the headphone socket of your ipod and the other in the AUX outlet of your car.

It depends on what your car has....

If the stereo has an input socket then you can use the sort of cable that Igglybuff is talking about.

If you've got a tape player then you can use the sort of thing that NomNom is talking about. This sort of thing...

If you've only got a car radio then this will do the trick.

Personally I'd go in that order too. Cable to your stereo, then the tape and only as a last resort the radio link.

I've never had any joy with those radio gadgets, trying to find a clear(ish) station in London was just a nightmare. I much prefer a cable of one sort or another...
