I need to store my pictures somewhere before my on-its-kast-legs laptop dies and we lose all our pictures of DS!

I don't have any cash this week to buy a dongle/ CDs so was thinking free online storage might be the way to go.

Any suggestions?

Bugger-

How much space do you need? If it's a lot, online storage is not likely to be a good option. It takes ages to upload to it and if your machine is on its last legs it may not survive long enough to do it. If it's less than 100MB then maybe, but bear in mind that uploading is far slower than downloading, for most people. You'd be amazed how long this takes for a decent size photo collection. I would really urge you to get hold of a hard drive or blank CDs to do it- then you will actually have them in your hand.

Hmm, I have no idea how many MB.

Maybe will try to find an old CD with some space on.

Thanks!

You can store up to 1 GB free on DriveHQ.com

Up to 5 GB free (apparently - sorry not tried it yet as I only saw it mentioned online while looking around tonight) at Jungle Disk

Starting backup to online storage while you buy a few CDs will do no harm, in my view...

Uploading is likely to be up to 448 kbps if you have "up to 8 Mbps" as a download speed.

Another one - 5 GB of media files, 5 GB of non-media files.

Humyo.com access was being offered free for the past year as far as I know (I first saw it mentioned by 123-reg.co.uk) and Humyo has now been bought by Trend Micro (that does anti-virus and other software).
