Connecting iPod Touch to car stereo

Daft question, but how do you connect an iPod Touch to a car stereo? I need ways of keeping DS amused on a journey!
The only thing I could find that seemed to do this had a cassette attachment and our car stereo doesn't have a cassette deck...

You can get an iTrip which connects to your radio via the FM frequency.

I've got one and It's ok, but I don't use it very much as I don't think the quality is that great because you have to tune it into a frequency which isn't used by commercial stations in your area and that can be a bit tricky, particularly if you're travelling long distances.

On the positive side, it does keep them occupied and is better than the choice of one CD.

I think that there are lots more on the market than when I bought mine though, so they may well have improved.

Do you have an AUX connection and cable. Thats what i use. You also get car stereos that connect automatically but imho they arent worth the money.

The itrip is also quite good, you just need to be carefull about the wave length you choose.

OP, I think the key question here is: what sort of car stereo do you have?

If you have a little round hole with 'aux' on it on the front panel of your stereo, then starshaker's solution is the best.

Cables are fairly cheap - go into Maplin and you can probably pick one up for 2 or 3 quid, if you don't have one.

No round hole means iTrip - they are a bit ricier tho - 30 quid or so for the Griffin one.
