can I edit photos sent to me by email?

My Mum took some photos of DS2 horseriding last week, but (as is her wont) took them from very far away, so he's a little speck in the distance. Despite me explaining to her how she could zoom in or crop once the photos had been downloaded to her computer, she has sent the originals.

Can I import them into my 'Pictures' and edit them that way? Despite my air of knowledge where my Mum is concerned I don't really know much more than her!
Thanks

Yes you can save them into "My pictures" from the email, and then edit them. You can drop them to get just your DS into the picture, but you can't add any more detail than is already there, so they might look fuzzy when you blow them up to look at them - it all depends how much detail was there to start with and just how far away he was!

What Operating System are you using (for example Windows XP or Mac OS X).

The method you use will be different for each type of system.

However yes in theory you can do it.

However as the previous poster has pointed out there are limits. If you try to crop or zoom to much the image will start looking blurry or grainy.

You need to save the pictures to somewhere on your computer. How to do this will vary according to what email software you're using.

If you can't see how to do it then let people know what you use for email and I'm sure someone will know how it's done.

In short if it's a "proper" application and not something you run in a browser you can probably drag the photo somewhere, either to your desktop or to somewhere using the Windows Explorer.

If it's a web email thing then you'll need to look for a "save attachment(s)" type of option.

When you've got the image saved then try double clicking on it and see what it opens with. You might already have a photo editing package on your machine, I've got the feeling that Vista does come with something.

If not you can download a simple photo editor like Google Picasa for free from here:
