I need a new printer which is nice and small. The all in one sort are far too big.
I would like to be able to print wirelessly, as we are going to upgrade our broadband stuff to wifi.
I've been looking at printers and the ones which say wifi ready etc are all huge!
The smaller compact style ones don't say they do wifi.
So - does anyone know of a decentish small wifi printer?
Or, is there another way to do this? Can I use an ordinary printer wirelessly by means of a clever adaptor? I've seen bluetooth mentioned on some printer specs - i've never really understood what bluetooth is, but would that mean we could do it wirelessly?
Our set up is a desktop and we would just like to be able to avoid the cable nightmare and we do have a laptop that we could also print from.
Any clues?

Yes you can do it another way= there are wireless routers that will also function as print servers- you connect the printer to it (with USB), and the computers can then all print to it. You can also get a printer with an ethernet socket and just plug it in to the router, and then all the computers will be able to see it on the network. How this all works depends on what computers you have, but it definitely doable and in my experience better than trying to use those printers that have built-in Wifi, which tend to disappear from the airwaves whenever they feel like it.

Thank you!! That's interesting. I was getting really annoyed that the only wifi printers are the huge all in one things. God knows where we'd put one that big.

So, I could look for a printer that says it has an ethernet socket. Or, get a wireless router/print server...

Ok will look into those options. WE haven't even got wifi yet. We thought we would do it with talktalk because they come and install their router i think. But maybe we'd be better to get our own router making sure it's a print server too.

I'm sure it will be good when we get it all going.

Our printer is connected to our wireless router, which means that all the computers in the house can use it.

It's a Brother.
