don't lift it up by the screen (when open) or it will crack

Don't let a child anywhere near it!
It's not made for children with little sticky fingers which get frustrated when a certain children's website isn't going as fast as it should. My Macbook is a mess. It's just about working .

Also, the magnet power pack thingie is crap. Our's barely charges at all, you really have to press hard and wriggle it to get it to charge and if you don't hold it, it loses the charge.
I was told by someone at the Apple shop to leave if off the charge until it runs down, then charge it again. Don't keep it at 100%.

All the laptops(IBM, Sony Vaio) i have used are quite strong so i'm used to doing certain things with them. I don't want another baby honestly. Is the MacBook Pro a better option? I'll be very broken-hearted if i crack the screen or if it 'melts' as i may not be able to get a new one soon after.

But i love it

I use iWork and like it. I also have Open Office for stuff which needs translating from WordPerfect etc. iWork is great for doing posters and I find it just as easy to produce minutes and letters as my old WordPerfect on the PC. There are limitations, but they're reasonably easy workarounds for them.

I lurve my Mac and wouldn't be without it - haven't turned on my PC in probably three years!
