I've bought one for ds for xmas & woujld like to suss it out before hand if i can! We have an sd card for our camera that fits the dsi so thats a good start! How do we get music onto it? & whats this about it not beingMP3 files? I have mp3 player & can just download music (am a bit hit & miss!) so another format (if thats the word) sounds confusing, also how do you get it onto the card? Secondly how do you connect to the net? we have sky wireless but it says it wont connect. When i search for an access point it brings up 'sky and then a ref no' so i assume thats a good start, but when i click on it it says it cant access it with current settings & says to use advance set up and then i'm pressing buttons & i dont really know what i'm doing so i've stopped!
Anyone help?
Cheers

Are you saying that the DSI is complaining that the music you're trying to play on it isn't in MP3 format or that you've read it in the instructions and are just confused as to what it's going on about.

What people know as "MP3 Players" very often play music that isn't stored as an MP3 File. So you could quite easily have music files that aren't in that format, and then the DSI could very well moan about that.

Most music stores (Amazon or Play for example) will give you MP3 files. iTunes on the other hand will give another format, AAC, which can be converted to an MP3 if you need to.

What exactly is the problem?

Who set up your Sky Wireless network? At the very least they should have set a password for it which you'd need to enter on the DSI. It's also possible that they've locked it down so that only certain gadgets can use the network.

Do you have a password and do you know what it is?

Thank you badgers. In answer to the music bit, I havent tried yet, but have read in the instructions that it doesnt 'take' mp3 format music. I also wondered how you go about getting the music onto the sd card as when i put the music onto my mp3 player i just plug it in.
As regards the internet, my hubby set it up, I wasnt aware we had a password, we both have laptops and we dont need one when we use them. I'll ask him tonight.

Ahh right, the DSi takes music in the AAC and not the MP3 format.

There's some information here complete with someone saying how to copy onto the card:

Once a computer has been given the password it can be "told" to remember it, so you may very well have one and never be asked for it.

It's a really good idea for all wireless networks to have passwords anyway.
