I need to print a scaled (1:1250) plan, but it keeps plotting "scaled to fit" - If I select anything else it disappears.

Please help!!

alypaly · 29/09/2009 16:59

are you a land surveyor?

YouCantTeuchThis · 29/09/2009 17:20

no - just trying to get properly scaled site plans to the planning department at council - they keep asking for different things!

Thanks fo rsuggestion, don't have larger size printer, but could find one somewhere!

the council department will have a printer that does A0

alypaly · 29/09/2009 17:23

ie unles you are charging them to do the plans for them. Its cheeky but worth a try

alypaly · 29/09/2009 17:38

it can be done but u need autocad in order to do it.

alypaly · 29/09/2009 17:39

do you have autocad yourself

alypaly · 29/09/2009 19:54

If you have Autocad in DWG format you must
set up your layout to draw at the scale you require.
Set up Layout by clicking the box next to MODEL
then change the properties for your plotter
and size of drawing,A4 I believe, then close the box down.
You will be left with the drawing on screen
but you must delete the box and drawing to create the correct drawing size.( ERASE )
You must then create a Viewport.
Find VIEWPORTS and create one viewport.
Use the cursor on the empty Layout to create a box at bottom left and top right.
This will create your drawing within the boundary of the Viewport.
Go to Zoom-Scale while your Layout is in MODELSPACE , not PAPER SPACE.
Type 0.8XP and this will create your drawing
at 1:1250 scale.
In MODEL SPACE you can move the drawing around to the area of interest, using the HAND movement icon.
DO NOT DO THIS IN PAPER SPACE as this will
just move the box around.
TRY IT and let me know how you get on...???
