I've done it before but can't remember how or what program I used to do it.

It's a JPEG image and I want the text on top of the image so you can see the picture behind the text.

TIA

You can take it into Word and make it a background image.

Is that what you mean?

Well I thought that was it...but when I've done that then either the text blocks the picture or the picture blocks the text -they are on top of each other but you can only see the top one iyswim

Step by step instructions so I can see where I'm going wrong?

You need to double click the text box edge and make 'fill' = 'none'. Also 'line' = 'none' if you don't want a box around it.

Tell me if that's enough help! I can get more detailed if you need it!

you can water down the image slightly so it isnt as dark in word aswell

are you using a text box?

if so have you set tthe background of the text box to transparent? double click the text box and the properties (i think) box comes up, find the background bit and set it to no background

then put the text on top but you still should be able to see the picture

Thanks will try those and report back

Right click on the text box, go to format text box, go to colours and lines and click 'no colour'. That makes the text box background transparent instead of white so you should be able to see the picture through it.

You could also try right clicking on the picture if it's in front and clicking send to back.

HTH!

God knows what I am doing...I have got it so the first line of the text has no white background but the rest of it still does and I can't work out why. Will keep playing
