Need to reinstall ISScript.msi

My computer had a virus and since that has been fixed every time I right click I get a message telling me my ISScript is out of date and I need to reinstall it. I've googled it and found loads of websites that I could download from but I'm not sure how to check if they're trustworthy or not. I am slightly paranoid as I never found out why I got a virus in the first place.

Can anyone recommend a reliable place to download from or a way I can check if these sites are genuine?

I know it's probably a stupid question but any help much appreciated!

ISScript.msi appears to be part of InstallShield, which is used by various software to aid installation. So... what software are you attempting to install?

This Page from InstallShield.com should be of help, there are various versions which can be downloaded, but which one you need will depend on what the software is that you are trying to install.

Thanks for replying

I'm not trying to install anything, I get the error message when I right click. Happens if it's on the desktop or in documents and folders.

Not sure why this is happening if I'm not installing...

That is the problem I feel... something unknown to you IS trying to install something, when you right click on a file. It may be harmless - may be some software you do want - or it may be a virus trying to re-install itself.

Do a full virus scan, spyware scan etc.

Then if nothing is found, if you want you can download the ISScript.msi that is being requested. Let the software install (see if you can identify what that software is). If you don't then want to use that software, Uninstall it via Control Panel.
Then do a full virus scan, spyware scan again... to confirm that nothing has been installed as part of that previous software installation.

All the scans a clear so hopefully that's a good start. The only trouble is because I can't tell what's trying to install I can't get to it's properties so I still don't know which version of ISScript to use.

The error message says to install the latest version so should I just go for 11?
