Downloading Nintendo Games

Well I've been naughty and ordered an R4 card. I'm using Mininova to download games - is it normal for t to be so slow and to stop and start. The upspeed for 2 of them is now 0b/s and its ground to a halt. 3 others haven't even started yet and it says they're queued. Do you have to wait for "seeders" to be online before it can work?

Also I see mininova have a catagory for Wii games, so how would I get a Wii game onto my Wii. Is there a similar card to an R4 but a different size?

tia.

you do have to wait for seeders to come online before they will download

I've found its best to do one at a time

try others sits apart from mininova

just put ndsdownload into google

about wii games
you have to 'chip' your wii which isn't that hard but takes a while using guides off the internet

but there is always a risk you could screw up your wii and once done you cant accept any updates from nintendo for the wii as it will undo the work you have done chipoping it
I haven't done it for the reasons above but my mate has successfully

he is fairly pooter savvy though

If they grind to a halt or are really slow I just delete the download and do it later/find a different copy.

quickdrawmcgraw · 28/01/2009 12:41

Stripey- could it just be that you're downloading more than one at a time? I've only ever downloaded one at a time and it's been fine.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 28/01/2009 12:43

I use nds-roms dot com. Its slow but has loads of games. The one I use tends to be slower on an evening when there are more people logged on.

SoupDragon · 28/01/2009 12:44

I've downloaded up to 3 at a time with no problem.

cocolepew · 28/01/2009 12:44

I think that's the one DH uses and it came be very slow.

cocolepew · 28/01/2009 12:45

can

quickdrawmcgraw · 28/01/2009 13:10

also try this it's a bit dizzying as it's in japanese(I think)but if you follow the green buttons would should be ok.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 29/01/2009 12:43

Right, I am still struggling on.

Some games are slowly seeding, others are queuing. I can't work out how to download from the nds-roms website, certainly can't figure the Japenese one out!

One of the games the file size is 64mb, I've now uploaded 84mb so why is it still going?

Is the R4 card the same as an N5, my N5 card did not work, when my friend put the micro chip into another N5 card it worked fine, so I want to know where to get good quality N5 cards (or R4)

CharCharGabor · 30/01/2009 19:18

I use this site It's in Spanish but has English games as well as other languages on. It's really easy to download on it and usually very quick

You click on the game name, then you are redirected to another site. You click on free user then wait for a bit and press download. Et voila!

couture1 It might just be that you haven't downloaded the correct menu files to your card. try downloading them directly from the site you bought the N5 card from.

Sidge · 30/01/2009 22:10

Try www.romulation.net/NDS/ I find them easy and fast.

i always use mininova and its really good and always have quite a few files downloading at the same time.

you have to make sure that the file has a lot of seeders.
are you using utorrent because if so you have to prot forward if you are using a router and make sure that its not being blocked by firewall

prettymum · 09/02/2009 20:14

prot=port

when you open the file to download, which bittorent client do u use eg utorrent, bittorrent, azureus

Hulababy · 09/02/2009 20:22

I have found the mininova site really slow recently.

Some of the files I have downloaded in past have come up as RAR files. How do I use them?

Hulababy- for rar files you have to unzip them, so you'll need to download something like winrar which u can find in mininova or torrents sites and follow instructions in folder and install.

then you right click on rar file and click unzip file and it will open another folder with your files in it.
