when i lived in my old house i had my Alexa set up on the wi fi provider then Talk Talk/Shell.
I have now moved and have Zzoom as wi fi provider but I wanted to set up my Alexa but try as I might I can not change the wifi provider so obviously it will not work on the old wi fi. I do keep googling it and try to access then change the wifi but it defeats me! I did also try factory settings but could not do that either I'm not very techy please help as I really miss my Alexa

Have you got the Alexa app on your phone, and is your phone connected to your new wifi?

If you open the app, does it see the Alexa?

Connect your phone to the Wi-Fi.
Enable Bluetooth on your mobile.
Stands near the Alexa and hold down the button with a dot on it until the top starts to circle with yellow or orange.
Go to the Alexa app and choose add new device. (You may need to remove the device of the same name from when you are at the Old place).
To add new device on the app it should recognize the Alexa in pairing mode.
If that doesn't work then maybe you might need to configure your Wi-Fi router to provide 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz separate WiFi channels and then just try connecting to the 2.4 GHz and try again.
Good luck!

Or just name the new network with the same name and password as your old one, then everything in the house will reconnect.

Usually the steps are.

  1. power-up the new router
  2. Look on the base for the admin password (not the wifi password)
  3. Type 192.168.1.1 (or 192.168.0.1) into your web browser, hit return
  4. You should then see a page to login into the router using the password from step 2
  5. It may insist you add a new admin password
  6. "Somewhere" in the options you should see something like manage wi-fi network, or change SSID etc.
  7. Rename the wi-fi network on the new router to be the same name and password as your old wi-fi network.
  8. save and Restart / reboot the new router.
  9. You should then "see" the "old" network, and all of your devices will reconnect as they can't tell the difference.

You may find that Amazon have disabled your Alexa as too old. This happened to us. Like the kindle. We moved but Alexa could not be set up with the new WiFi. It’s all a terrible money grab really.

Their excuse is that old Alexas can’t be updated with necessary security.
